An Evening at the Beach

We love the beach. The evening time is the perfect time to go, dimmed light, cool breeze, lots of space to run, grandpa's available to come play (the kids' favorite part!). Eden loves to jump the waves while someone holds her hands and flies her high into the air.

Tommy is content to just dig and chase birds. Grandma sits in her chair on water's edge admiring everything around her---the colors of the sky, the wisps of clouds floating by, the giggles that follow the children wherever they go, she sometimes brings a book, and sometimes not, but book or no book, she sits enjoying the moment of just being.

I wander here and there appreciative of having time to myself, collecting shells, chasing the kids, admiring my view, and basking in my blessings. The only thing missing from our little paradise is daddy, who is conspicuously absent. For now grandpa and grandma will due, but we can't wait to be with him again sometime soon.

The pink clouds bounce off the water sparkling their rose colored hues all over the sand, air and sea.

  1. Stunning. Makes me long for the sound of the sea and wide-open sky. Thanks for sharing.
